Stelios Kazantzidis was born in August 29, 1931.
At the age of 13 he was orphaned from his father.
As boy his life there were full in the difficulties, he worked until
late by the random works. served in the army in the island of
Makronisios. his life they changed after service in the military,
that the factory owner in him there was a worker gave him guitar. He sat
hours to play with the guitar to expressed his feelings.
He left the night club section does not appear more than in 1965. During his career he has spent over 120 albums and stopped recording in 1976 and moved to his favorite hobby, fishing. He said he felt the freedom and peace together with his fishermen friends.
He was diagnosed with cancer and was hospitalized at the medical center in Athens. Before returning to the hospital in Athens he was treated in Germany.
Stelios Kazantzidis passed away at the age of 70 on 14 September 2001.
